You askWe answer

I've never done cross-country skiing before. Can I start with the biathlon?
Yes, of course, that's possible. In that case, choose classic scaled skis, ideal for learning to shoot and ski at the same time.
What is the difference between biathlon with 10m or 50m shooting?
  • For an introduction to shooting, or a fun discovery with family or friends, shooting at 10m is the best option. We use pellet rifles and the targets are set at 10m. The activity is accessible to children from 7 years old with their parents.
  • Shooting at 50m is reserved for experienced shooters. The weapon used is a 22 LR like the biathlon on TV. The instructors have special accreditation and can only supervise 2 people at a time who already have a good level of cross-country skiing (not possible this winter).
Do I need a ski pass?
For cross-country skiing and biathlon at La Livraz, a ski pass is compulsory.

The ski pass for access to the La Livraz Nordic area is not included in the price (Adults: €9 / Children: €6 per day, excluding insurance).
Should I bring my own equipment?
Yes, you need to bring the right equipment (cross-country skis, poles, boots) for classic skiing if you're a beginner, or for skating if you're more advanced. esf provides the shooting equipment.
Where can I hire my equipment?
Most of the sports shops in the village have them for hire (NB: that there is no hire at La Livraz).
How should I dress?
- Technical sportswear is ideal. In all cases, choose breathable clothing and not too many layers.
- Don't forget your sun protection and take plenty of water.
Is the medal included in the price?
The biathlon medal is not included in the price but is available at an additional cost (€9). Don't hesitate to ask your instructor for it after your test!
Is it possible to walk to the cross-country runs?
No, this is totally forbidden, as the pistes (cross-country and alpine) are reserved for skiers only.
On foot, use the marked footpaths.
